Abstract

One of the objectives of this study is to determine the extent of rapid spread of Malta fever in three specific regions that are consistently susceptible to the spread of this disease .The current study included 100 male and 100 female patients, ranging in age from 10 to 60 years.

The Bengal Rose test, used to diagnose Brucella spp. infection (the actual cause of Malta fever), was performed using a standard test kit from a reputable German company. The diagnosis relied on the aggregation of antigens and antibodies produced in the patient's blood due to infection. The results of the tests showed an increase in the number of infections during the study period compared to previous years. The study also revealed a clear and significant difference in the infection rate among females, which was higher than that of males. The 20-40 age group recorded the highest percentage of infections. Compared to other age groups, the study showed a significantly higher incidence of the disease in non-urban areas compared to urban areas. Health awareness and a healthy lifestyle play a crucial role in preventing this disease
